Another feather in his
cap: Samala Venu performing his plume trick
Hyderabad’s
magician Samala Venu has created a record
of sorts. His feat of driving blindfolded
on a two-wheeler for 3,186 kilometers through
all the districts of Andhra Pradesh will
soon enable him to ride into the Guinness
Book of World Records.
The president of Rotary Club
of Hyderabad, Mr. W.V. Kiran, has received
a letter from Ms. Amanda Books correspondence
editor of the Guinness Book of World Records
that after publishing the entry into book,
they would send a certificate to the magician
by post. Mr. Samala Venu began his journey
on December 24. Mr. Venu spread the message
of national integration and donation of
eyes on his long drive. His tour was organised
by the Rotary Club.
Meanwhile, the Limca Book
of Records has also recognised his feat
and awarded him a certificate on May 8 for
the longest distance covered blind-folded
on a two-wheeler. The Limca Book of Records,
on the same day, also recognised his feat
of performing non-stop for 36 hours on September
7 and 8, 1991, involving 486 tricks without
repetition.
